Getting Acquainted

It's that time of year again! Each day, I check the breeding cages for newborn eyelash vipers. The first litter of the season was born this morning with mom here giving birth to even more after Darlene shot this video. As you can see, this vividly banded baby took the opportunity to hitch a ride on it's mother's head.

WOW, that is too cool!!! I'm glad you caught that on camera and shared it. I've never seen mom and babies interact like that.

It is amazing!! This morning the mom was coiled with babies next to her.

The babies interaction with their mother is amazing. I just tried to snap a photo of 2 babies drinking water from her back. They are little buzz saws though and my slightest movement sent them into a striking frenzy!
